CAULFIELD–SRIKLAD
CAULFIELD–SRIKLAD is an interdisciplinary studio practice initiated by brother and sister Daniel Caulfield-Sriklad and Siranee Caulfield-Sriklad. The practice explores how identity, memory and belonging are experienced, negotiated and expressed through the body, encouraging an embodied and intersectional sense of belonging through alternative material processes, embodied methods and localised collaboration.
Born in Ireland and of Thai–Irish heritage, they draw upon their experiences of identity and belonging to explore the material and cultural memories held within their ancestral archives. This foundational research has shaped a distinctive design language and methodology, exploring how cultural memory, embodied experience and intercultural imagination can inform and reshape our sense of identity and belonging.
Building upon this foundation, the practice continues to evolve through an expanding inquiry into embodied autobiography, exploring how lived experience, memory and sensation might be expressed through the body and translated into alternative forms of communication. Textual, graphic, visual, sonic, material and movement languages inform an interdisciplinary approach, connecting embodied methods and creative experimentation across fashion design, communication design, visual arts and pedagogy.
The practice has gained international recognition through exhibitions, artistic residencies, conferences, commissions and workshops, including its participation in the State of Fashion Biennale 2026 in Arnhem, NL. Collaboration and co-creation remain integral to its interdisciplinary ethos, nurturing meaningful relationships with independent practitioners, cultural platforms and creative studios.
The website is organised into three galleries reflecting the leading areas of the practice: Ancestral Activism, Embodied Practice and Inter-sectional Design. Juxtaposition is used intentionally as a visual metaphor, inviting the viewer to create comparisons, contrasts and connections, generating dialogue and meaning through the places and spaces in between the work.
